A small, pencil-shaped device that sprays high-pressure watercolor-based pigment as a means of correcting halftones or producing tonal variations.

The term airbrush also refers to a function in a digital color imaging system that serves the same purpose as a conventional "analog" airbrush. The airbrush function can be controlled by moving a stylus on a digitizing tablet or by a mouse and adjusting the speed, size, and strength of the "spray" from a menu of commands or settings.
