    Author's Alteration

Changes made by an author to a book or other material after the inital layout has been determined. Author's alterations are typically distinguished from typographical errors, printer's errors, or other such minor changes. Due to the expense involved in making excessive changes at this stage, book contracts typically stipulate that the author pay for alterations beyond a certain agreed-upon minimum limit. Often abbreviated ""AA"". (See also Editorial Change.)
