    Back Pressure

The pressure, or squeeze, found in the impression nip, or the pressure between the blanket cylinder and impression cylinder on a printing press used in offset lithography. The degree of back pressure exerted during printing directly affects not only print quality but also blanket wear and damage. See Offset Lithography: Printing Unit, Blanket Cylinder, and Packing.
