    Backing Away From Fountain

    A printing defect of offset lithography characterized by printing that grows progressively weaker or streaked, caused by a high-viscosity ink (or an ink resistant to flow) failing to make contact with the fountain roller and consequently failing to be transferred to the ductor roller.
