    Broadcast Quality

In video production and multimedia, descriptive of any video signal which produces a picture quality in compliance with network television broadcast standards. In particular, such video equipment must produce a screen frequency and number of screen lines as specified by either of the three broadcast standards: National Television Standards Committee, Phase Alternating Line, and Séquentiel Couleur à Mémoire. In general, however, broadcast quality also is a subjective measurement which is often left to the discretion of a particular broadcast station or network. For example, a poorly recorded videotape may conform to the proper number of screen lines, but be unwatchably bad.
