    Case

    In typography, the condition of letters of the alphabet, i.e., whether they are uppercase or lowercase, capitals or non-capitals. The term derives from the respective locations of upper- and lowercase letters in early type cases.

    In binding and finishing, the term case refers to the hard covers used to bind some types of books. See Case Binding.
