    In screen printing, a rounded, sometimes slotted, tool used to uniformly apply a photosensitive stencil emulsion to the surface of a screen fabric. See Photostencil: Direct Process. Also known as an emulsion applicator, emulsion coater, spreader, and scoop coater.
