    Color Burn-Out

A printing defect characterized by an undesirable discoloration of a printing ink, either in a standing quantity of the ink itself or on the printed piece, caused either by the chemical incompatibility and reaction of disparate ink components or by heat produced in a stack of printed pieces which interferes with the oxidation of the wet ink.
