    Color Model

    In a graphics system, a means of describing each color within the color gamut in a particular color space. Examples of color models include PHIGS (Programmer's Hierarchical Interactive Graphics System) in which the color model is a three-dimensional coordinate system in which every displayable color is represented by a single point plotted on those three axes; HLS (hue, lightness, and saturation); RGB (red, green, and blue); and CIELAB (lightness, redness, and blueness).
