    Color Station

On a multi-color press, an individual set of rollers and cylinders used for printing each specific color, comprising inking rollers, dampening rollers (in offset lithography), a plate cylinder (in offset lithography and flexography), a gravure cylinder (in gravure printing), and a blanket cylinder (in offset lithography). A two-color press has two color stations, a four-color press has four color stations, and so on. Depending upon the press confuguration, each color station may have its own impression cylinder or the press as a whole may have a single large-diameter common impression cylinder that brings the substrate in contact with each color station successively.
