    Color Transparency

In photography, a color original reproduced on color photographic film, characterized by the need for light to pass through the image in order for it to be viewed, also known as transmission copy. A common example of a color transparency is the Ektachrome slide, which is also—albeit inappropriately—called a chrome. See Transparency.
