    Control Key

    A key included on computer keyboards used to modify another key. The Control Key is added to expand the number of functions that a particular key can have. See also Alternate Key, Command Key, and Option Key. The Control key is usually designated Ctrl, as in the common keyboard combinations Ctrl-C and Ctrl-Alt-Del.
