    D, d

The fourth letter of the Latin and English alphabets, derived from the Greek delta. The form of the uppercase "D" derives from the North Semitic letter daleth, later adopted by the Greeks and ultimately by the Romans. The lowercase "d" also derives from the Greek delta and from the Latin cursive letter d.
