    Desktop Color

General term for the reproduction of color images (either as a part of digital prepress or for other means) on a desktop computer (such as a Macintosh, PC, Sun workstation, or other type of computer), utilizing a color scanner or other means of obtaining digital images such as a Photodiscs, Internet file transfers, etc. Images are imported into a program (such as Adobe Photoshop), color corrected, resized, and otherwise processed, exported into a page makeup program (such as PageMaker or QuarkXPress), and then output to a color printer, direct digital color proofer, or to film.
