    Digital Film Recorder

A type of film recorder that reads a digital image file and converts the digital data to an analog signal and records the image on film. Consequently, the resolution of the image output to the film is much higher than the resolution of the image on the computer screen. (See also Analog Film Recorder.) See Film Recorder.
