    Double Density

    A type of floppy disk that contains twice as many tracks as the first variety of floppy disk, allowing twice as much data to be stored. So-called "single density" disks vanished shortly thereafter. Double-density disks were eventually supplanted by high density disks. Abbreviated DD.
