    Dynamic Data Exchange

    A communication protocol used in Microsoft Windows and IBM OS/2 operating system environments used to transfer data and commands back and forth between applications. In Windows, DDE is supplemented by object linking and embedding, while in OS/2 is is supplemented by OpenDoc.
