    Electronic Picture Desk

A computer-based wirephoto picture receiving, manipulation and output device capable of interfacing to pre-press systems so photos remain in electronic form. It can receive electronically from wire services, satellite, remote scanners and in-house scanning devices. Prices are expensive (up to $85,000) if you include backup and multiple picture editing terminals. These are PC based systems, which will link to Mac networks and to high-end color systems.
