    Ink Receptive

A property of paper, other substrate, or printing plate that describes the extent to which it (or portions of it) will accept the transfer of ink to its surface. A paper or other substrate that is ink receptive will also absorb some or all of the vehicle, as opposed to a substrate that is ink repellent. Ink receptive surfaces tend to be water repellent.
