    Modified Modular Jack

A variety of modular jack developed by Digital Equipment Corporation, comprising a six-pin connector used to connect serial cables to computer hardware devices. A modified modular jack (abbreviated MMJ) is distinguished from a conventional RJ-11 modular jack (used to connect telephone lines to wall outlets) by having a side-locking rather than a center-locking tab.
