    Oblique

In typography, an alternate term for italic, or a term descriptive of a right-leaning change in the posture of the characters in a particular typeface. Although oblique can refer to any italic version of a typeface, it is often used to describe a matching italic face, or an italic created by merely slanting the roman characters electronically (or by other means). See Italic.
