    Page Makeup

The art and process of assembling all the disparate page elements—text, graphics, line art, halftones, and other material—into camera-ready copy. At one time accomplished using hot metal, it was until recently performed primarily by pasting up output text and other page elements onto a paste-up board. Pages are now increasingly composed electronically and digitally, using page makeup software.
