    Primary Rate Interface

    One of two types of ISDN connections comprising 23 B-channels (in the United States and Japan) and one D-channel. In Europe, PRI utilizes 30 B-channels. PRI is primarily used by businesses rather than individual users. See also Basic Rate Interface. See ISDN.
