    Scuff-Resistant Ink

A printing ink to which a wax has been added to impart to the dry ink film a tough, hard surface able to withstand the scuffs and shocks experienced during shipping and handling. Most types of ink have scuff-resistant formulations, which are used primarily for printing on cartons and other packaging. (See also Non-Scratch Ink.)
