    Smash Resistance

The ability of an offset press blanket to return to its original thickness following its brief exposure to the increased pressure generated during the printing of an impression. Smash resistence is one of two measures of blanket resilience. A blanket that doesn't readily return to its original dimensions will print inconsistently over the course of a print run. (See Blanket.)
