    In optical disc manufacturing, a means of applying a thin protective coating on a disc in which a small drop of fluid is placed in the center of the disc. When the disc is spun at a high speed, the drop spreads out and coats the surface of the disc with an equal thickness throughout. When the fluid dries, it forms a transparent, protective layer.
