    Top Drier

    A drier added to a printing ink as a means of increasing the rate at which the ink undergoes oxidation and polymerization. A top drier differs from a through drier by working to form a thick, hard surface on the top of the ink film, rather than dry it throughout its interior. (See Drier.)
