    Wideband

    Descriptive of a color filter containing very small optical openings (measured in nanometers) that allow for the transmission of light over the entire visible spectrum. In contrast, narrowband filters are used only to transmit light of selected wavelengths or colors. (See also Narrowband.)

    In telecommunications, a bandwidth capable of transmitting more frequencies than a standard 3-kilohertz voice channel.
